Support the Budapest Declaration - Refugees and Children's Right to Health Care

These days hundreds of thousands of refugees from war zones, especially Syria, arrive in Europe. This leads to critical situations particularly for those needing special attention such as children and families. More than two thousand paediatricians, neonatologists, nurses and parents from Europe and the entire world came together in Budapest for the first congress of joint European Neonatal Societies (jENS) to discuss all aspects of newborn health. It is our duty to help where we can. Therefore, parts of the jENS Congress’ revenues will be donated to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In addition, participants donated money during the congress week.

KH Brisch’s book Treating Attachment Disorders, Second Edition: From Theory to Therapy has been nominated for the 2013 Gradiva Award for Best Book by the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis (NAAP). The Gradiva is awarded for the best published, produced or publicly exhibited work that advances psychoanalysis.

BASE in Schools/ Tauranga (New Zealand)

The B.A.S.E.® programme began on February 11 at Tauranga girls’ College in the Early Childhood class. The four term programme is being facilitated by Tanzi Bennison. Yvonne Thurston continues to run B.A.S.E.® at Te Ranga School and will also include Te Puke Intermediate School when the programme begins there.
